Subject: Suggest a Proper Dosage

I was found having Manic disorder in the Year 2000 & got treated.

My last dosage was
Mazetol (carbamazepine) - 200mg - 1-0-1

Then suddenly due to various issues of tensed times my recent I needed to visit a local Doctor and the dosage he suggested as follows :

I have been prescribed with Tegrital 400CR 1-0-1 & Oleanz 5mg 0-0-1.
This I have been taking the last 2months.

As the weakness in my right hand and right leg was continuing I went to another General Doctor. Since the BP was there too She suggested me with the following dosage along with the above.

1. Trilagavit (B1, B6 & B12) - consists of Thiamine Nitrate 200mg, Pyridoxine hydrchloride 100mg & Cyanocobalamine 1mg.

2. Renitec 5mg - consists of ENALAPRIL MALEATE for high BP.

I am taking the above 2 tablets along with Tegrital 400CR & Olenz 5mg daily from last 1month. The result is immediate and I recovered from the weakness.

I have stopped the above 2 tablets now and continuing only with Tegrital 400CR & Olenz 5mg, again I started getting weakness in the hand, leg and giddiness.

I am planning for a visit to India to meet my Psychiatrist who treated me in the Year 2000 for a consultation.

But can you advice what has gone wrong...with me now.
and what type of medication should I take currently.

Thanks.

Answer from DepNet

As you have not mentioned your age in your mail, I am not sure about the cause of your 'weakness' in your right hand and leg. Perhaps it may have been due to high BP as you seem to have responded well with the treatment offered for blood pressure. I do not think it is correct for you to have discontinued those two tablets without proper advice, especially because your symptoms seem to have been returned. I think the best option is to see your doctor when you return to India and sort out the multiple problems that you seem to be facing. It is difficult to comment on further treatment on the email at this point in time.
