Subject: Depression-Continious thougths and feeling down

hi, It looks like i am going into deep depression.I am getting continious thoughts.I feel very lonely and always thinking something.Few days ago i was thinking my husband is god etc. I am also recalling all my past memories and i am linking them to current situation.I get irritated if my husband doesn't support me for a small thing.I get mad sometime and shouting.
I live in states and visited india for a month recently.I have also conculated a psychyiatrist there and he recommended me to take citraplex-10mg.
Please tell me how safe is this medication. My husband bouthg it but i am not ready to take it.is is better to go for psychotherapy rather than taking these medicines? Pl suggest.
I have fear that the effect of this medicine would be temprary and i will be in same situation again.I am looking for permanent solution and i feel that psychotherpay is better.Pl gudie me.

Answer from DepNet

You certainly have a problem, which requires treatment with medication. If your psychiatrist has recommended Cipralex, you must take it without fail. This does not have any long term ill effects. I agree psychotherapy will help but only in combination with medication. In fact the best results are obtained when you combine medication with therapy.
